Yours Mine & Ours

The daily chaos and special moments of a typical American blended family

Kamden woke up this morning and told us that he was excited to go to school today because the work is getting easier for him. It sounds minor, but it is the most exciting news I've had in a long time. A lot of hard work is starting to pay off. The fact that he is beginning to feel successful makes me so happy!

Trip to Daddy's Fire House

We try to go visit Shane at work as much as we can. Here are some pics I snapped of our last visit.

The best average birthday ever!

The weeks before my birthday were totally hectic. I worked non-stop, then went strait to Tahoe for a week of craziness. By the time my birthday rolled around, I wanted nothing more than to take a day off and get back to being Mommy (Shane had pretty much been Mister Mom for 2 weeks straight...he's the best!). I didn't want guests, I didn't want to go out to dinner, I just wanted to have a perfectly normal day. That morning we took Kamden to school, took the baby to the pediatrician, and ate a Rosa Maria's Chile Relleno Burrito (I took a picture but it looks too greasy and disgusting to share). Later, we picked Kamden up and had a meeting with his new teacher. Shane and the kids made me dinner and a cake. After a quick round of Happy Birthday I blew out trick candles (never gets old for Kamden, apparently). We practiced our times tables (third grade is going to be a BLAST..I can tell already) and went to bed nice and early.

I have been blessed by the greatest friends and family anyone could ask for. I am totally looking forward to this year...the last year of my 20's....*sigh*

Oh yeah, did I mention that Shane got me a Mac Book? Huge Boyfriend points!!

There are so many countless pics of this gorgeous wedding on Facebook, etc that I will just share a few. It was, by far, the most beautiful wedding I have ever had the honor of being involved in. Steph is an amazing friend, and I can't say enough just how honored I was to share this day with her. Thanks, guys!

Eugene's Parents very sweetly sent the whole wedding party (and all their friends and family) on a gorgeous dinner cruise.

Aquarium of the Pacific

Wednesday started out with parents who didn't want to cook breakfast, so we made an impromptu trip to our fav breakfast spot. Over breakfast, we decided to make an impromptu trip to the Aquarium of the Pacific since none of us had ever been there. I can say I went to an amusement park (sort of) with an 8 year old and a toddler with absolutely no planning involved. I didn't even have a stroller (and I was lucky to have a diaper bag). Anyway, it turned out to be a great day...so great that we upgraded our tix to a family pass. It was so relaxing that I took the kids back the following Friday (with a stroller and a few more diapers this time).
